The world is full of beautiful things, and the more you look at the world around you, the more you are going to see that amazes the senses. That is true of these unusual trees that look as if somebody took the time to spray paint them with pastel colors. When you see them, you might even wonder if they are real. I assure you, they are.
What you are seeing below are pictures of Eucalyptus deglupta trees, commonly known as ‘rainbow trees’ or ‘Mindanao gum trees’. These tropical evergreens are easy to spot because of their unique bark that is colorful with rainbow colors. As the tree sheds the old bark every season, a new layer of beautiful colors shows from underneath. It’s absolutely breathtaking, especially when you think that the tree will look different every year.
These are no small trees. They are evergreens that can grow up to 250 feet tall! You will find them in different parts of the world, including Indonesia, New Guinea, and the Philippines. They tend to grow where rainfall is plentiful and sunlight is practically never-ending.
Although they may grow in many parts of the world if the conditions are right, you will find them in the United States as well. They are found in Hawaii, Southern California, Florida, and Texas. Since the US is not its native environment, however, it typically only grows up to 125 feet tall in the States.
If you are looking for some of these trees to see in real life, you should head for a warmer region. If you aren’t in a position to find them in the wild, you can always find them on Instagram. Pictures have been tagged from the locations, including Maui and Waimea Valley, Hawaii; Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg, Florida; Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Coral Gables, Florida; as well as in parts of the South Bay region of California.
